Svadhisthana "Sacral" Chakra

The sacral chakra, or svadhisthana, meaning "one's own abode" is represented by the color orange and the element, water. It is located in the lower abdomen, above the genitals. It is symbolized by the yantra symbol, the crescent and the shape of a circle.

The sacral chakra is associated with emotional flow, sexuality, and intimacy. When blocked, or unbalanced, one will have sexual problems, fear of intimacy, or seeing sex as a purely physical act. When properly opened or balanced, one will feel open, friendly, be able to show healthy emotional feeling and will not feel guilt in pleasure. Some foods that will help to balance and fuel your sacral chakra are sweet foods such as fruits, honey, vanilla as well as cinnamon. The cobra pose helps to open and balance your svadhisthana chakra.
